Wine Review: This dark red colored Syrah from Krupp Brothers is always a top performer. The 2013 vintage opens with a pleasant mild cherry-vanilla bouquet with hints of blackberry and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, nicely balanced, smooth and approachable. The flavor profile is a blueberry and gentle cherry blend with notes of minerality and faint oak. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested that this Syrah will appeal to readers who like rich Pinot’s. They would pair it with pork tenderloin or smoked oysters. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Brimming with boysenberry, blackberry, dark cherry, black pepper and cloves. Flavors of blueberry, dark chocolate covered coffee beans and maple-glazed bacon envelop the palate. Richly textured with round tannins that persist into a long finish. Pair with lamb chops in a balsamic demi-glace and porcini mushroom risotto. Drink now through 2020.
