Wine Review: This pitch black colored Syrah opens with a black raspberry and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, fresh and savory. The flavor profile is a very tasty black raspberry with notes of plum and black pepper. I also detected a hints of oak and coffee in the background. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are a little sticky and linger nicely, but do not get in the way. The Syrah is pretty impressive and would pair perfectly with comfort foods like Theresa's meatloaf or Shepherd's pie. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep, dark and inky describe the color of this beautiful wine. The nose is rich with umami characters of roasted meats and smoked bacon which mesh nicely with sweet floral components. Cocoa, coffee and vanilla bean are also present. The wine enters the mouth brightly and shows flavors of blueberry and ripe plum which blossom with fresh raspberry as the wine opens up. The finish is long with subtle medium grained tannins. This wine will benefit from decanting and will drink well now through 2021.
