Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet from the prestigious Stagecoach Vineyard is Excellent. It is also a very nice deal at $70 considering its exceptional quality. It opens with a black currant bouquet with a hint of smoke, earth, and oak. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, nicely balanced, and very smooth. The flavor profile is a delicious black currant with notes of integrated oak. The panel also detected hints of coffee, blueberry and chocolate that added to the wines complexity. The finish is dry and its fine tannins drift away nicely. The panel suggested that this classy and elegant Cabernet would be perfect with filet mignon. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This wine is a classic Napa Valley high elevation Cabernet Sauvignon. With beautiful deep purple hues, complex aromas of allspice, toasted oak, currant, boysenberry, cocoa, vanilla and tobacco leaf, this wine is sure to intrigue the palate. There is a bright entry with medium body weight which leads to beautifully structured and layered mid palate tannins. This wine is very pretty but it is not shy. The flavor profile consists of dark black fruits with hints of roasted coffee bean and earthy black tea characters. The finish is long and lingering with a nice balance between acid and tannin showing great aging potential.
