Wine Review: This slightly opaque dark purple colored Syrah opens with a very fragrant and attractive blueberry bouquet with a hint of wintergreen. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and distinctive. The flavor profile is a smoky meat and black currant blend. There are also notes of black pepper and a hint of black berry mixed in that add to its complexity. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. This Syrah paired perfectly with my braised pork at the Farm House Restaurant at the Top of the World in Lake George, NY. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Deep Garnet almost black in color. Intense aromatics of cider-smoked ham, bacon fat and graphite intertwine beautifully with green olives, blueberries, raspberries and lavender. A dense, complex pallet - black raspberries, blueberries, vanilla, smoky oak framed perfectly by soft, succulent tannins. The wine has great brightness and a very persistent finish.
