Wine Review: This very dark purple Syrah from Chile is a lot of wine for the money. It opens with a shy light blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, very nicely balanced, and quite smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty fruit forward blueberry. The finish is dry and its moderate fine tannins stick with you for a while. This very affordable Syrah is very food friendly and pair well with an Angus bacon burger. It would also be a great glass pour. I would certainly order a second glass. Cheers - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This first vintage of Koyle Syrah presents a dark violet color, rich, and generous, with creamy, intense cassis and graphite notes, chocolate and toasty oak on the nose and palate. Ripe tannins are well integrated; the structure and intense flavors suggest great aging potential. It has a long, lingering, velvety finish. This wine can be cellared for up to five years, and decanting up to 30 minutes before serving is recommended. This wine is ideally served with red meats, pasta, and hearty dishes.
