Wine Review: This opaque and dark red colored Cabernet was a new discovery for me at the Boston Wine Expo. It is dark red and opens with a red currant and black cherry like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a plum and black currant blend with nicely integrated oak, minerality and black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are well managed. This tasty Cab would pair well with a bison burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: One is immediately struck by the stunning deep purple color and wonderfully dense aromatic intensity. The integrated complexity of the nose makes it difficult to pick out individual components, but there are hints of mature dark cherries, pepper and an alluring dusty-earthiness. On the palate the structure and weight are concentrated and consistent with top Cabernets, with a balance and roundness indicative of the fruit from the ridge of the Mayacamus Range. The finish lingers nicely with added hints of allspice, vanilla, and juniper berry.
