Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from the Dr. Crane Vineyard is impressive and was well liked by all those that tried it. It opens with fragrant and attractive cassis and black cherry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant and plum blend with notes of nicely integrated minerality and oak. I also detected hints of black cherry. The finish is dry and its flavors and moderate well managed tannins build up and linger nicely. This terrific Cab would pair very nicely with filet mignon at your favorite steakhouse. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: An abundant richness and density is found in our 2013 Dr. Crane Cabernet. Notes of blackberries and blueberries jump from the glass. In the mouth, the wine develops on the palate with big, velvety tannins and beautiful notes of coffee and dark blue and black fruit. With its expressive aromas and flavors, this wine would pair well with a ragout of beef with winter vegetables or a seared duck breast with a port wine reduction.
