Wine Review: This pitch black colored Aussie red blend is a fruit bomb. It opens with a fragrant blackberry jam bouquet with hints of boysenberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic and rather juicy. The flavor profile is ripe blackberry with notes of plum & black licorice. I also detected hints of boysenberry, black pepper, and minerality. The finish is dry and its fruit flavors and gentle acidity linger well after the wine is gone. This fruit bomb would be perfect for a messy rack of Kansas City barbecue ribs. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Appearance: Red brick in colour with youthful crimson hues. Nose: Aromas of dried herbs, cherry plums and eastern spices combine seductively on the nose. Palate: A nicely weighted wine, carrying the spiciness, plums and chocolate notes from the nose through to a lingering palate finish. Fine grained tannins and a touch of fine French oak char complete the package. Pair with: Tapas sharing plates & meze, spicy red meat dishes. Delicious with Chorizo, Haloumi cheese or Pizza.
