Wine Review: This pitch black colored Shiraz opens with an inviting boysenberry and blueberry bouquet with a hint of peppermint in the background. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced and delicious. Those delicious flavors are a blend of black currant and mild blackberry with nicely integrated noted of minerlity. I also detected some blueberry and a touch of old oak as well. The finish is dry and its attractive fruit flavors and mineral streak drift away slowly after the wine is gone. This Shiraz is very food friendly and would pair perfectly with a New York strip steak with red beets and garlic mashed potatoes. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Appearance: Brick red in colour with youthful crimson hues. Nose: Well defined and complex, a barrage of dark fruits, chocolate and liquorice notes, well supported by quality French oak char. Palate: A palate full of expression and textual spendour, dark cherries, rich chocolate notes, and smoky French oak flavours carry over from the nose and blend divinely with seasons finely balanced tannins and acidity. A wine to enjoy now or to further reward with careful cellaring.
