Wine Review: In the glass, this Petaluma Gap Pinot Noir is a brilliant medium garnet color, with a generous bouquet which includes black raspberry, wild strawberry, garden soil, violets, light smoke, and cedar. On the palate, this more delicate styled Pinot is well balanced, crisp, and juicy, with plus acidity and a medium body. I found flavors of sour red cherry, pomegranate, stone dust, baking spices and a mild herbal note. Light fine-grained tannins linger for a while in the tart finish. Serve with a wild salmon with creamy dill sauce. – Mark
Winemaker Notes: Marin wines mostly tend toward the lighter bodied, brighter acidity end of the California spectrum, and that's generally true of my pinot also. I'm more interested in letting secondary earth and spice notes show through than I am in presenting a wall of primary fruit in my wine.
