Wine Review: This dark yellow colored Chardonnay from Kendall Jackson is very good. It opens with a fragrant pineapple, oak and lemon bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and has a very soft and round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a grilled pineapple and toasted oak blend with notes of lemon. I also detected a hint of minerality, vanilla and green apple. The finish is pleasant and drifts away nicely. I would most likely drink this very nice Chard on its own. With food, I would pick a lobster. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: A unique expression of place, Grand Reserve is a winemaker's blend of single appellation wines sourced from our mountain, ridge, hillside and benchland grapes grown along California’s cool coastline. The 2017 displays lush tropical fruit that intertwines with nice minerality from the calciferous soils. There is a touch of floral notes from the small amounts of Dijon and Rued clones, and a hint of vanilla and spice to round out the rich, long finish.
