Wine Review: This bright ruby colored Pinot Noir from Kendall Jackson is a big boy wine. It opens with a fragrant black raspberry bouquet with hints of strawberry jam, black cherry and light oak. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and slightly acidic. The flavor profile is a tart plum with notes of minerality, black pepper and oak. The panel detected hints of black tea and dark cocoa. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins stick around for a long while, which was well received. This Pinot is more on the hearty side and would pair with more substantial dishes. The panel really liked it and suggested pairing it with lamb skewers, duck or a veal chop. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Wild strawberry jam aromatics with smoky, briary and raspberry flavors, finished with a burst of blueberry.
