Wine Review: The FMC rocks! It is deep yellow colored and opens with a ripe Anjou pear and banana bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, rich, concentrated, and loaded with ripe fruit flavors. Those flavors are a tangerine and ripe Bartlett pear blend with nicely integrated butterscotch and mild vanilla oak. I also detected hints of lemon. The finish is dry and its yummy flavors stick around well after the wine is gone. This is clearly one of the top Chenin Blancs is the world. Chard lover will embrace it. I would pair it with lobster bisque. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This iconic Chenin is a benchmark South African bottling, and what Ken Forrester considers to be the ultimate expression of the Chenin Blanc grape. Crafted in a rich, ripe style, this wine flaunts succulent flavors of honey, dried apricot and pear, with bright tropical fruit notes and alluring undercurrents of toasted nuts, vanilla and spice.
