Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Kelleher opens with a black cherry and black currant bouquet with a hint of licorice, forest floor and violets. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with moderate acidity. We also found it to have a round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is black currant and crushed stone blend with notes of oak and black licorice. We also detected hints of dark chocolate mixed in. The finish is dry and its sticky dusty tannins linger and last for a very long time. The Panel would pair this Cab with a well-marbled ribeye. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon has power and finesse, having aged for two years in barrel and three years in bottle before release. The tannins are chalky and fine, making this wine very approachable now with potential to age for another 10 years. On the nose, aromas of baking spices and mocha jump out of the glass along with black plum and gravely minerality. The palate is brighter with more red fruits, black pepper, and balanced acidity.
