Wine Review: This very dark purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from South Africa opens with a black raspberry, currant, and beef jerky bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The flavor profile is a red currant and cedar blend with notes of red raspberry tea. I also detected hints of black cherry, red licorice, crushed gravel, and cured meat. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins are very nicely sustained. This impressive Cab from Kanonkop would pair very nicely with a grilled porterhouse steak at your favorite steak house. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This powerful yet elegant Bordeaux blend is a true South African classic. It exhibits intense aromas and rich flavors of cassis, plum and licorice, with underlying notes of leather and tealeaf. Enticing hints of violets, underbrush, and cigar box linger on the long, silky finish.
