Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Kanonkop is very good. It opens with a black cherry and molding clay bouquet with hints of black pepper, cedar closet, and black plum. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and slightly acidic with a nice round mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a cedar influenced black cherry with notes of red currant. We also detected hints of black tea, beef jerky and baking spice. The finish is dry and its well-managed tannins show very nice length. The Panel suggested pairing this Cab with a venison steak or lamb stew. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This dense full-bodied Cabernet Sauvignon shows notes of supple blackcurrant, black plum, cedar wood and spice. The palate offers additional characteristics of pencil shavings, tea leaf and molasses. Balanced with good acidity and integrated ripe tannins, this bottling completes with a lingering finish.
