Wine Review: Pinotage from Kanonkop is consistently one of the best. The 2013 continues that tradition. It is pitch black colored and opens with a mild blueberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, nicely balanced and juicy. The flavors profile is a plum and blueberry blend with hints of red cherry and oak. The finish is dry and its flavors and fine tannins fade away nicely. This Pinotage would pair well with grilled pork chops with a fig chutney. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Crafted from pioneering Pinotage producer, Kanonkop, this benchmark bottling is a true Cape classic! Alluringly complex and distinctive, it boasts juicy layers of dark berries, cassis and plum intertwined with hints of banana and mocha with a smoky, minerally undercurrent.
