Wine Review: This slightly opaque and dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from South Africa opens with a fragrant blackberry bouquet with hints of black raspberry. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, slightly acidic, and very juicy. The flavor profile is an extracted blackberry with nicely integrated smoky old oak. I also detected notes of black pepper and hints of black licorice, black raspberry and a touch of minerality. The finish is dry and its fresh acidity and fruit flavors are nicely prolonged. This wine would pair well with pork tenderloin with fig and thyme. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: This elegant Bordeaux-inspired gem is South Africa's equivalent of a "First Growth." Rich and full-bodied, this stunning Cabernet flaunts intense flavors of dark berry, Morello cherry and spice accented by smoky hints of tobacco.
