Wine Review: This slightly opaque dark ruby colored Cabernet opens with a boysenberry and gentle oak bouquet with a hint of blackberry. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and juicy. The flavor profile is a ripe boysenberry with hints of blackberry, black pepper, and just a touch of oak. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are a bit sticky and linger for some time. This Cab would be perfect with pulled pork sliders. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2007 Kamen Cabernet is a powerful expression of Sonoma hillside fruit. In the glass are pronounced aromas of ripe cassis, roasted dark raspberry and cherry, with notes of violets, rose petals, wet stone, mocha and spicy oak. The mouth seamlessly integrates black fruit and a solid spine of soft, supple tannins. The full, round mid-palate showcases the balance of acid, fruit and tannins persist with a lasting finish.
