Wine Review: This ruby colored California Merlot opens with a black cherry bouquet with a hint of pomegranate and black pepper. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe red raspberry with notes of plum and pomegranate. There was also a hint of oak that was detected up as well. The finish is dry and its flavors linger slightly. Joe and I thought this would pair well with pork tenderloin. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas of black cherries, fresh plums, violet and dark chocolate overwhelm the bouquet. On the palate, the wine is layered with fresh bing cherries, baked plums, and mocha, softened by its delicate, almost luxurious texture, and given staying power with a long, raspberry and cocoa powder finish.
