Wine Review: This dark red colored Cabernet Sauvignon based wine from Joseph Phelps is Excellent! It opens with a black currant and tar like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, creamy and very smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty black currant and oak blend with notes of minerality and black cherry. I also detected a hint of blueberry mixed in as well. The finish is dry and its tannins build-up and stick around for a very very long time. I would pair this big wine with a well-marbled dry-aged ribeye steak. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2015 Insignia is densely hued with rich dark fruit, cocoa powder and fragrant dried flower notes. Velvety texture and weight on the palate with layers of juicy black plum, Madagascar vanilla and bergamot. Bold, creamy and supple with integrated tannin structure and a lengthy finish.
