Wine Review: This yellow colored Chardonnay from Joseph Phelps is impressive. It opens with a ripe apple bouquet with a hint of pear. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, nicely acidic and fresh. The flavor profile is a very tasty mild green apple and lemon blend with notes of gentle vanilla oak and minerality. I also detected hints of Bosc pear towards the end as well. The finish is dry and its remaining acidity is pleasantly refreshing. This Chard is food friendly and would pair nicely with a seafood casserole. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Bright and fresh, the 2015 Chardonnay envelopes the senses with lemon zest, green apple and jasmine aromas. A richly textured mouthfeel with inviting citrus notes, stone fruit and lemon custard throughout the palate, followed by crushed oyster shell minerality and a subtle toasted brioche finish.
