Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored wine opens with a mild blackberry bouquet with hints of earth, cedar, and eucalyptus. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, well balanced, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a concentrated blackberry and black currant blend with notes of tart cranberry, black pepper and oak. The finish is dry and its building moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. The panel suggested pairing this big and rich wine with duck or a venison roast with garlic. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 Insignia boasts aromatic layers of dark roasted coffee and graphite. The seductive mouth-feel has excellent length, intensely ripe black fruit, minerality and creaminess that tie together seamlessly on the palate.
