Wine Review: This dark red colored Merlot based wine will appeal to Bordeaux fans. It was a big hit at the Expo. It opens with a very fragrant black cherry bouquet with hints of oak and black currant. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty cedar infused tart cherry with notes of a black pepper and plum. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are nicely prolonged. Mark and I really enjoyed this old world styled wine. We would suggest pairing it with beef bourguignon. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The wine features notes of black currant, tobacco, coffee, black cherry, and toffee. Full bodied, plush tannins and integrated acidity lead to a persistent finish.
