Wine Review: This slightly cloudy and very dark ruby colored Shiraz from Barossa opens with black raspberry and smoked meat bouquet with hints of vanilla and boysenberry. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with plus acidity. The mouthfeel is round, bright, and savory. The flavor profile is an extracted blackberry and boysenberry blend with notes of oak and loam. I also detected some hints of tea and graphite mixed in. The finish is dry, and its moderate tannins stick around for quite a while. I paired it with the Switchback Ale braised short ribs at the Reluctant Panther. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Nose: Attractive notes of dark berries and plum supported by hints of licorice and a floral lift.
Palate: Dark and brooding, tightly wound layers of rich black and blue fruits with hints of dark chocolate and spice, finishing long with savory tannins
