Wine Review: This slightly opaque dark ruby colored wine opens with an attractive black raspberry bouquet with a hint boysenberry and pomegranate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and very smooth. The flavor profile is a tasty blackberry with some gentle oak and black raspberry blended in. There was also a dash of black pepper detected. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are friendly. This very tasty Aussie red blend would pair perfectly with barbecue steak tips. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2008 vintage of Plexus is an intricately structured blend comprised of rich and vibrant fruit from Barossa Valley's old, low yielding vines. A true refection of Barossa's soil and climate, Plexus expresses aromatic red fruits that are supported by ripe plums and earthy spice and savory oak characters. The palate is rich, round and full of concentrated, bright berry fruit. These flavors are balanced by vibrant acidity and soft, ripe tannins. A touch of oak adds complexity and the long and layered finish.
