Wine Review: This pale yellow colored Chardonnay from Jeff Gordon opens with a pleasant mild lemon and faint oak bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and pleasant. The flavor profile is a gentle Bosc pear with notes of faint oak. We also detected a hint of pineapple, lemon and mild minerality. The finish is dry and subtle. While the panel thought this wine lacked the oomph to push it to the next tier in terms of scoring. They did feel that it was food friendly and would pair well with a hearty New England clam chowder with bacon. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This luxurious chardonnay has deep yellow, almost straw color with hints of light gold. The aromas soar from the glass upon first swirl. Initial essences of Meyer lemon, vanilla bean and poached pear show through, followed by a wisp of creme brulee. The wine has a nice, smooth mouth feel with plenty of balancing acids that carry along flavors of green apple, melon and cream. This chardonnay will pair wonderfully with any light fish or fowl.
