Wine Review: This opaque and very dark purple colored wine opens with a black cherry and black licorice like bouquet with hints of oak and black pepper. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a mild milk chocolate with notes of toasty oak and black cherry. I also detected hints of black currant. The finish is dry, shows a little heat and its moderate dusty tannins linger nicely after the wine is gone. This wine would pair well with slow cooked beef brisket or prime rib with sour cream mashed potatoes. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Dedicated to Jeff and Ingrid's daughter who was born in 2007, this exceptional Napa Valley red blend is velvety and pleasing in structure. With a dark ruby color and aromas of blackberry, plum, allspice and vanilla oak, combined with flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, plum and cassis, this wine is very complex on the palate. Decant for maximum flavor.
