Wine Review: This slightly opaque dark ruby colored red blend from Jeff Gordon opens with a very fragrant boysenberry and black cherry bouquet. There were also scents of Hersey's special dark chocolate detected as well. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, soft, and fruit forward. The flavor profile is a ripe black currant with a hint of plum and a dash of black pepper. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins are prolonged. This wine would pair well with Theresa's meatloaf. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This full bodied wine is big in style with a smooth, pleasing structure. With a dark ruby color and aromas of blackberry, plum, all spice, and smoky oak associated with flavors of black cherry, chocolate, and cassis this wine will please any palate on its' own or pair well with a variety of food dishes (roasted lamb, braised short ribs, any savory cheese). This blend can be consumed presently, but will continue to improve over the next five to eight years.
