Wine Review: This very dark opaque purple wine was given to me as a gift. I wish I liked all gifts as much as I enjoyed this one. This wine opens with a smoky meat and spicy black licorice like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, very nicely balanced, and smooth. The flavor profile is a red raspberry and black licorice blend with a dash of black pepper. The finish is rather dry and its moderate tannins are quite persistent. This wine would be a perfect complement to beef brisket or beef bourguignon. Enjoy - Ken
