Wine Review: This very dark ruby colored entry-level Cabernet Sauvignon from J. Lohr opens with black currant and black cherry bouquet with hints of loam and oolong tea. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel balanced and round. The flavor profile is black currant and black cherry blend with notes of clove and oak. We also detected hints of herbal tea and nutmeg. The finish is dry, and its fine tannins fade away nicely. We would pair this easy to drink Cab with a shepherd’s pie. Enjoy – Ken and Mark
