Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Merlot from Paso Robles opens with a black cherry and blueberry bouquet with a hint of violets. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, plush, and it is also fresh. The flavor profile is a juicy plum and mild black cherry blend with notes of cocoa and oak. I also detected some hints of blueberry towards the very end. The finish is dry and its mild dusty tannins drift away nicely. I would pair this very good value Merlot with your favorite steak sandwich. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Varietal aromas of plum, currant, and violet are elevated by a light barrel signature of baking spices and toasted pastry. The addition of Malbec contributes notes of pomegranate and hibiscus flower. Cabernet Franc brings layers of cocoa and peppery spice. The mouth-watering palate transitions to a lingering black cherry finish. This versatile wine pairs well with grilled sausage.
