Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon based blend from J. Lohr opens with a black currant and dark cherry bouquet with hints of black licorice, cedar, and wet stone. On the palate, this wine is medium plus bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, smooth, and evolves in your mouth. The flavor profile is blackberry, black cherry, and clove blend with notes of graphite and black pepper. We also detected hints of black licorice, oak, black currant, and dark chocolate. The finish is dry, and it displays refined and well-managed tannins that are nicely sustained. We would enjoy this red blend on its own. With food, we would pair it with a venison steak. Enjoy - KWGTP
