Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon from J. Lohr is very good. It opens with a blueberry and black cherry bouquet with a hint of leather and plum. The mouthfeel is balanced, round and savory. The flavor profile is a black cherry and black currant blend with notes of oak, earthy loam, and black licorice. We also detected a hint of clove. The finish is dry, and its dusty tannins and fruit flavors linger and last for a very long time. This Cab would pair well with a well marbled ribeye. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2019 J. Lohr Hilltop Cabernet Sauvignon is exceptionally dark in color with aromas of blackberry, black currant, and toasted pastry crust. Dense and soft on the palate, with elegant layers of black and red currants leaving a bright finish. Delicious with rosemary-seasoned ribeye and garlic-roasted potatoes with parsnips and fennel.
