Wine Review: This opaque and deep purple colored Cabernet Sauvignon opens with a fragrant blackberry and floral bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied and balanced. The flavor profile is a black currant and blackberry blend with notes of minerality. I also detected hints of cola, blueberry, cocoa dust and oak mixed it. The finish is dry and its moderate tannins show nice length. This mid-tier Cab would pair well with grilled steak tips. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2018 J. Lohr "Hilltop" Cabernet Sauvignon is effusive with fresh varietal aromas of black cherry and hints of toasted pastry and baking spice on the nose. Dense and soft on the palate. Elegant layers of black and red currants leave a bright finish. Delicious with rosemary-seasoned ribeye and garlic roasted potatoes.
