Wine Review: This almost black colored Petit Verdot based blend from J. Dusi opens with a mild black currant and boysenberry bouquet with sandalwood, mocha, cedar, and hyacinth. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, smooth, mouth-coating, and rich. The flavor profile is multi-layered featuring a mocha, boysenberry, and smoky oak blend with notes of black plum. We also detected some hints of English toffee, black cherry, and a touch of espresso. The finish is dry, and its flavors and well-managed tannins are nicely extended. The Tasting Panel would serve this red blend with a New York strip steak or with burnt ends. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: This inky blend of Petit Verdot and Tannat is bright and bold with a punch of bright plum. Dark cherry and winter spice consume the mid palate. A broad tannin finish with a lasting impression of cacao nib.
