Wine Review: This medium ruby colored Zinfandel opens with a fragrant strawberry rhubarb and black raspberry bouquet with hints of black cherry, oregano, and prune. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium plus acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced and zesty. The flavor profile is a brambly blackberry and black licorice blend with notes of black pepper and black tea. We also detected hints of oak and black pepper in the mix. The finish is dry and lingers of a bit with some heat exposed. The Tasting Panel would pair this Zin with a North Carolina pulled pork platter or with a smoked sausage jambalaya. Enjoy – KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: Our flagship Zin doesn't disappoint its long-standing reputation. Quintessential of the Dante Dusi Vineyard the brambleberry beat is unmistakable. Those who are familiar with this vineyard could pick this wine out of line up (probably blind folded). This wine opens up with fresh picked berries, reminiscent of French patisserie berry tartlet. Fruit, earth, and acidity all balance nicely in the mid-palate creating a silky mouthfeel on the finish.
