Wine Review: This midnight purple colored Petite Sirah opens with a blueberry and chocolate bouquet with a hint of coconut, violets, and wet slate. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied with medium acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, velvety, and tame for a Petite Sirah. The flavor profile is a blueberry and black plum blend with notes of mocha and black tea. We also detected hints of black jellybean and blackberry. The finish is dry, and its well-managed moderate tannins stick around for a while. The Tasting Panel would pair this food friendly Petite Sirah with Jiko's wild boar or with smoked beef ribs. Winemaker Notes: The 2019 Caterina's Petite Sirah may be our only vintage. Inky in color, this intense Petite Sirah opens with bright blueberry that leads into a mid-palate of caramel and cocoa nib. Its broad tannins have hints of black tea for a delightfully lengthy finish.
