Wine Review: This dark red colored Pinot Noir from Oregon opens with an attractive boysenberry bouquet with a hint of cola. On the palate, this wine is medium to full bodied, very well-balanced, lush and really smooth for a Pinot. The flavor profile is a very tasty plum and mild boysenberry blend with hints oak, spice drop and faint black pepper. Its flavors drift away nicely on the finish. This Pinot is very food friendly and will be a crowd pleaser. If not quaffed quickly you could serve it as a very nice pairing with a salmon burger. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: The Basalte Pinot Noir is selected from vineyards in the Chehalem Mountains. The extremely rocky, fractures basalt subsoils in this area produce wines with great balance and a rocky minerality.
