Wine Review: Just in time for wedding season, is the “Wedding Cuvee” from Iron Horse. This pale copper colored sparkler opens with slow gliding and streaming bubbles that lead to a fresh bread dough bouquet with a hint of shelled nuts. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, pleasantly acidic and mouthwatering. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced walnut with notes of green apple and touch of strawberry mousse towards the end. The finish is dry and flavors drift away nicely. As the title says, this would be a superb wedding wine. I would also be exceptional on a picnic with soft cheeses and a French baguette on picnic. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: This is Iron Horse's most romantic bubbly. We describe the 2014 Wedding Cuvee as dangerously easy to drink. Pretty pink in color and capped off with a pure mousse, this fruit forward, elegantly dry bubbly, displays ultra-tiny bubbles. In the mouth, it displays stone fruit, pink grapefruit, Tahitian lime, blood orange, raspberry with a gentle mouthfeel. It wraps up with an exceedingly long finish.
