Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Cabernet Sauvignon from Washington state did very well in our blind tasting. It opens with a fragrant black cherry bouquet with a hint of bee’s wax, plum and strawberry licorice. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, velvety smooth and juicy. The flavor profile is a red plum and red currant blend with notes of mocha and cola. The finish is dry and its medium tannins fade away nicely. The Panel thought this Cab would pair well with game bird. Roasted pheasant with bacon and vegetables was suggested. Enjoy - KWGTP
Winemaker Notes: The 2016 vintage of Intrinsic has a wonderful floral nose, complemented by aromas of cherry and leather. The flavors are layered with tones of blueberry jam, pomegranate and chocolate. The texture is rustic, yet silky, with a unique savory and inviting finish. The raw characteristics of Intrinsic Cabernet Sauvignon pair nicely with grilled meats such as lamb, beef and pork, and seared vegetables.
