Wine Review: This cherry-red colored Pinot Noir from New Zealand opens with a red raspberry bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and savory. The flavor profile is tart red raspberry and strawberry rhubarb blend with hints of mild minerality and gentle oak. The finish is dry and its flavors are nicely prolonged. This good value Pinot is a nice wine to pair with food. I would pair it with Chinese pork dumplings. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: The 2015 Central Otago Pinot Noir is bright crimson and has red fruit aromas of strawberries, raspberries, and cranberries with savory, spicy undertones of clove, nutmeg and thyme. The palate delivers intense red and blue fruit flavors with elegant weight and texture. Polished, structured tannins and a vibrant natural acidity bring focus to an impressively long finish.
