Wine Review: This goldenrod-colored Riesling from Inniskillin opens with a light apricot and pineapple bouquet with hints of honey, orange marmalade, and marigolds. On the palate, this wine is full bodied with integrated medium acidity. The mouthfeel is nicely balanced, viscous, dense and mouthcoating. The flavor profile is a tasty apricot and honey blend with notes pineapple. We also detected hints of peach tea, orange marmalade, and a touch of apple. The finish is pleasantly sweet, and its flavors and acidity linger for a very long time. The Tasting Panel would enjoy this rich Vidal Blanc on its own. With dessert we would try it with peach cheesecake. Enjoy – KWGTP

Winemaker Notes: Generous amounts of ripe fruit give aromatics of peach, mango, and orange. Flavors of apricot and citrus with hints of clove and a touch of vanilla make this a classic Niagara Peninsula Icewine. Always good with the traditional crème brulee and crème caramel; try tropical fruit compote, roasted peaches, or pineapple with panna cotta; cheeses from fresh chèvre to parmesan with a dribbling of honey; brown butter lobster salad with baby arugula and hazelnuts.
