Wine Review: This yellow colored Chardonnay from South Africa is a very good value. It opens with a wet stone, matchstick and ripe Bartlett pear like bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced and easy to drink. The flavor profile is a gentle Bosc pear and mild mineral blend with notes of faint pineapple, lemon verbena and Granny Smith apple. The finish is dry and flavors drift away nicely. This Chard would be a very nice glass pour as it is a crowd pleaser. I would pair this Chard with chicken and wild mushroom ravioli with a light cream sauce. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Bright tropical fruit aromas lead to a crisp, fresh palate with mouth-filling flavors of apple, pear, honey and pineapple. A gentle kiss of oak adds a creamy butterscotch nuance and wonderful depth. A superb value, this versatile white is a fantastic match for a wide range of dishes, from mac and cheese to spicy ethnic food.
