Wine Review: This dark ruby colored Carmenere based blend from Veneto opens with raspberry and red plum bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, round and juicy. The flavor profile is a mineral influenced plum with notes of vanilla oak. I also detected hints of orange, pepper and oolong tea. The finish is dry and its mild tannins and flavors fade away nicely. This wine would pair well with a slow-cooked roast pork sandwich. Enjoy - Ken
Winemaker Notes: Vivid ruby core with a narrow purple rim. Pronounced nose with black cherry, damson, soy, cocoa and Parma violet. Elegant front-palate with fresh acidity, firm, integrated tannins and medium plus length. Drink 2008 – 2010. At its best with salami or grilled pork.
