Wine Review: This light yellow colored Chardonnay from down under is a perfect summer option for lovers of this grape. It has enough acidity to be refreshing, yet many of the flavors you want in a Chard. It opens with a mild ripe pear bouquet with a hint of ginger ale and pineapple. On the palate, this wine is light bodied, acidic, and coats the mouth. The flavors are a ripe lemon with hints of pineapple and nicely integrated oak in the background. The finish is dry and rather refreshing. This Chard would pair well with swordfish shish kabobs off the grill. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Appearance: Pale yellow with greenish tint. Aroma: Delicate peach, pear and ripe citrus fruits mingling with non-overpowering vanillin and light toasty oak. Palate: This is a beautifully crafted wine. Full flavoured with ripe stonefruits at the fore, the oak is subtle and really well integrated and provides support to a palate that has texture, balance and just great mouth feel with a long, persistent and crisp finish. Food Marriage: This medium bodied chardonnay will complement most chicken, pasta and veal dishes. As long as the food is not too spicy or generally overpowering, it will provide a good match.
