Wine Review: This aged Semillon is golden yellow colored and opens with a bee’s wax and plump golden raisin bouquet with hints of butter and honeysuckle. On the palate, this wine is full bodied, balanced, silky and lush. It has a great mouthfeel. The flavor profile is a tasty honey, buttered toast and mild quince blend. I also detected hints of vanilla, saline, white peach and touch of ginger. The finish is dry and floats away nicely. This Semillon is ideal to enjoy on its own. With food, try it with coquilles St. Jacques. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Tasting this you can see why the Hunter is famous for Semillon. The classic citrus characters were evident when more youthful but the wine is starting to develop the highly renowned toast and lanolin characters that appear after about 7 years in bottle. - Michael Hope
