Wine Review: This golden yellow colored Chardonnay from Oregon opens with musty apple cider, honey, and wet gravel bouquet. On the palate, this wine is light plus bodied with moderate acidity. The mouthfeel is balanced, soft, and mouth coating. The flavor profile is a chamomile tea and Anjou pear blend with notes of stony minerality, white pepper. I also detected some hints of green apple and Nilla wafer in the mix. The finish is dry and drifts away nicely. This Chard is food friendly and would pair nicely with poached cod fillets with a lemon-butter sauce. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Aromas from the glass start by showing fresh grated orange zest, with a hint of lemon. The palate transitions to lovely comice pear and apple flavors. A very fine-textured finish extends substantially in the mouth. Enjoy it as an aperitif, with fresh cow’s milk cheeses, or try with mache and Asian pear salad with hazelnuts, or linguini with clams & fennel. Drink 2021-2030.
