Wine Review: Dark ruby in color, this Merlot has fragrant boysenberry, cassis and bitter chocolate aromas that carry through directly to the flavor profile. Cinnamon and clove flavors also touch the middle of the palate, as do other bramble berry and red fruits like currant and pomegranate. The body is medium and the tannins are integrated and mostly resolved, while the finish is dry and somewhat curtailed but nonetheless pleasing. We would pair this good value Merlot from Columbia Valley with a pulled pork sandwich in a toasted Kaiser roll or with a Tennessee meatloaf (ground beef, pork, and veal) with a brown sugar and ketchup glaze. – Jeoff & Joe
Winemaker Notes: Color: Ruby red with purple undertones.
Nose: Cherry, blueberry and prune aromas weave in between complex spiced vanilla, cocoa and sweet oak notes.
Taste: Pensive, elegant, smooth and well-balanced with round tannins and pronounced dark fruit flavors.
