Wine Review: This dark red colored second label from Hewitson is a great value. It opens with a new oak and black currant bouquet. On the palate, this wine is medium bodied, balanced, savory, and very quaffable. The flavor profile is a pleasant gentle cherry-cola and blueberry blend with hints of strawberry licorice. The finish is dry and its mild tannins are friendly. This very approachable Aussie red would pair perfectly with Bolognese over bowties. Enjoy – Ken
Winemaker Notes: Carrot Patch is a medium ruby red color. On the nose, there are notes of dried herbs and cherries. Flavors of red forest berries mixed with morello cherries provides a fleshy, ripe palate through which nuances of Moroccan spice, provencal dried herbs and smoked meats are woven. The wine has a characteristically Mediterranean feel from ancient Mediterranean varieties grown in Barossa Valley. The finish is both savory and long
